Submit Your Sitemap to Ask.com
While a lot of webmasters concentrate on optimizing their websites for search engines and directories like Google and Yahoo!, it will also be good if you optimized for biggies like Ask.Com, which is formerly Ask Jeeves.
As a member of Agloco,* I found it interesting that its operators entered into an agreement with Ask.com to make it the default search engine in the Agoloco toolbar, giving Ask.com access to a huge membership that was offered the opportunity to earn money while surfing the web
So I searched the forums, followed the links and found out how to submit your sitemap to Ask.com. Here it is!
1. In the Ask.com Help Central for Webmasters
Q: Does Ask.com support sitemaps?
A: Yes, Ask.com supports the open-format Sitemaps protocol. Once you have prepared the sitemap, add the sitemap auto-discovery directive to robots.txt as follows:
SITEMAP: http://www.the URL of your sitemap here.xml
The sitemap location should be the full sitemap URL. Alternatively, you can also submit your sitemap through the ping URL:
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.the URL of your sitemap here.xml
Please note that sitemap submissions do not guarantee the indexing of URLs. To learn more about the protocol, please visit the Sitemaps web site at http://www.sitemaps.org.
2. So, when I chose the second option, I made sure to substitute www.your-sitemap-file-name.xml with the FULL URL of my sitemap, not just the filename of my sitemap, which I am sure a lot of folks do. So you to the address bar of your browser (where you type out the URL of the page you want to view), type out the Ask.com PING URL like the one I list below and press Enter:
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.gobaguio.com/sitemap.xml
As you can see www.gobaguio.com/sitemap.xml is the FULL URL of my sitemap. You will not be successful if you merely type out:
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http%3A//sitemap.xml
3. When your submission has been successful, you will get a results page like the one in the screen shot in the beginning of this article.
Go ahead and try it! Submit your sitemap to Ask.com today!

*Agloco is no more. It was a heavily marketed program where members were enticed to sign up, install the toolbar and earn while surfing the web. It was a massive failure.

I have a sitemap created by sitemapsgenerator. I have put in root file, but when asked to put url i dont know what to do to submit. help.
Your full URL is required. Your url is usually http://www.your-site-name.com/sitemap.xml — so make sure you put the complete URL not just sitemap.xml.
Hope this helps.
